ICC declares Rawalpindi Test match pitch substandard

According to the ICC, in the Rawalpindi Test match referee Ranjan Madugalle in his report declared the pitch as substandard for international competitions, stating that there was no change in the reaction of the wicket during 5 days, not on the wicket.

There was nothing for the fast bowlers and the spinners did not get any help due to which there was no equal competition in bat and ball.

Under ICC rules, the pitch at Pindi Stadium is being declared substandard and a demerit point has been given which will remain active for five years.

If the de-merited ground gets 5 points then one year ban is imposed and no international competition can be played in this stadium.

Earlier, the Pindi Test pitch was criticized by cricket fans, including former cricketers and Australian players, while in the five-day match of the match, only 14 wickets fell and 1187 runs were scored.
