Sri Lanka has withdrawn from hosting the Asia Cricket Cup 2022

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) informed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) of its decision to host the event.

According to Sri Lankan media, the SLC informed the ACC about their decision and said that they are not in a position to organize the Asia Cup cricket tournament in the country due to the current political and economic situation in the country.

The Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in August and September 2022 before the T20 World Cup in Australia.

The decision to hold the event in the UAE has not yet been made. However, the Asia Cricket Cup can be held in any Asian country including India.

Sri Lanka will likely request the UAE Cricket Board to choose a venue where they can host the event.
