An important meeting regarding the promotion of cricket in Sindh was held at Sindh Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah in which Chairman Sindh Cricket Association Imran Hussain, PCB Director High-Performance Nadeem Khan, GM Domestic Cricket PC B Junaid Zia, Secretary Spot Department Sindh, Secretary College Education Khalid Haider Shah participated while all the Divisional Commissioners participated through video link.
In the meeting, Pakistan Cricket Board officials said that PCB is going to start school cricket kits in the province from February next year with the cooperation of the Sindh government.
In the first phase, 239 matches will be played in 30 districts of the province in the school league.
240 teams and 3850 players will play, the kind of talent that has emerged in cricket from Sindh will now go to the district level in search of talent.
In the second phase, 24 matches will be played between 30 teams at the divisional level, in the third phase, 5 matches will be played between 6 teams in Sindh Championship.
In the meeting, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah said that the Sindh government would provide full facilities to Pakistan Cricket Board, the school league would cost 27 million which would be provided by the Sindh government.
It was decided in the meeting that the cricket ground of the province would be restored by the Sindh government with the help of PCB in which 17 grounds would be restored at a cost of 91 million in the first phase.
